General terms and Conditions of Participation
Please Read Carefully:
The following Terms and Conditions apply to all services offered to the participants of the Program Pythagoras Mundus Summer School and are signed by the student through the school or through an intermediary (agencies included).
- Registration
- By registering you automatically agree to the Terms and Conditions of Participation.”
- The registration is done online by filling out the form from the site http://www.pitagoramundus.org/scuolaestiva .
- By registration, at our school, the student agrees to follow the course and to comply with the the internal regulations of the school.
- To participate in the Italian language courses offered by Pythagoras Mundus and/or apply for a scholarship, you must be a member of the Association Pythagoras Mundus (here you can read the statute). The share of participation as a member is included in the cost of registration for the course or the application for a scholarship.
- Age
- Participation in the program and/or to request a scholarship is reserved for students over the age of 18 years.
- Students under the age may be admitted to the courses of the group, whereas, the parents or guardian's legal consent to participate in the courses, taking on the personal responsibility of the child and ensuring financial security. This permission (scanned) must be sent via e-mail, together with the registration form and a photocopy of an identity document (scanned), the office of the secretariat. The authorization model is available on request.
- Students between the ages of 4 and 15 years of age must book private lessons or lessons in a group set. Must be accompanied by their parents or guardian.
- Payments
- By making the payment of the registration of the participation in the course, the student will automatically accept the terms and conditions contained in this document, as well as the rules of procedure referred to.
- The first installment must be paid within 7 days from the receipt of the letter of confirmation of registration to the course or awarding of the scholarship request, so that the confirmation of the registration to become effective.
- The balance must be paid within 30 days prior to the beginning of the course, without additional notification by the school.
- Payment methods
- for students in the euro area, we recommend payment by bank transfer. Together with the confirmation of the course/scholarship, the student automatically receives the data bank. The commission costs are the responsibility of the student. A copy of the payment must be sent to: info@pitagoramundus.org .
- for students not belonging to the euro area it is recommended that the payment via credit card on the dedicated platform also indicated in the letter of confirmation of registration for the course/scholarship.
- Payment in cash. Payment in cash is accepted exceptionally only booking 'last minute'; the payment in this case) must be paid on the first day of the course at the office of secretary.
- Other services booked after arrival (e.g. extensions, individual lessons, extra services or activities not offered within the cultural program as well as expected) can only be paid in cash.
- The request for a change of course will only be possible if there are places available. There are no refunds for cancellation, except in the case of illness or force majeure duly justified and documented. In this case, you will need to notify them by email to the secretariat at least 60 days notice prior to the beginning of the course, so that the school can proceed to the reimbursement of the amount paid, deducting administrative expenses, which amounted to €180.
- Services included in the registration fee
- Organization
- Co-ordinate general;
- Services coordination and mediation of cultural, linguistic and social issues;
- The presence of a tutor, for the whole period of the school during the activity;
- Service secretariat to provide administrative support and logistics to the students;
- Presentation of the weekly program with welcome drink;
- Map of the city, information and advice on excursions;
- Weekly schedule for free time;
- Guided tour of the Village.
- Intensive Italian language course in the classroom:
- Level tests, written and oral;
- Twenty (20) hours per week (Monday are you interested);
- The structure of the classes: four (4) hours per day in the morning for the development of the pedagogical content of the course;
- A maximum of 20 students per class, preferably of a different nationality;
- Instructors qualified professional;
- Communication methods of total immersion to get a fast learning.
- Courses in Italian culture:
- 20 (twenty) hours per week (Monday to Friday);
- Lessons of Italian culture (Paths) that will be developed in areas related to:
- local crafts (ceramics, dance, etc.);
- wine and food (e.g. pasta, bread, pizza, wine, oil, etc.);
- the discovery of the territory (Travel and tour guests in 8 municipalities of the region of Calabria Tropea, National Park of the Sila, Pollino National Park, Cosenza, Diamante, etc.);
- the history of the art;
- literature;
- music;
- philosophy;
- history.
- Educational material
- At the beginning of the course in the classroom, the student will receive:
- 1 (a) text book “Pythagoras Mundus”, in Italian as a second language,
- 1 (one) block Notes “Pythagoras Mundus”,
- 1 (pen)
- 1 (a) pencil,
- 1 (a) rubber,
- One (1) backpack books.
- At the beginning of the course in the classroom, the student will receive:
- Accommodation
- Students benefit from a service accommodation in shared accommodation;
- All services are included in the registration fee.
- Final exam, a certificate of participation
- Students who have attended the minimum number of hours (80% of the activities included in the official program), access to a final exam to achieve: Certificate of participation in the Program Pythagoras Mundus Summer School, Italian language course for foreigners issued by Iscape
- Transfer free
- Students have all the free transportation in all the cultural activities organized and inserted in the program of the official activities.
- Accommodation
Students benefit from the following residential services:- Shared apartment accommodation in single rooms*, double, or triple;
- Apartment with a toilet (at least one bathroom for every four students) and kitchenette;
- Articles in residential consisting of a standard equipment and kit chamber composed of:
- no. 2 (two) sheets;
- no. 1 (a) cushion,
- no. One (1) bath towel,
- no. 1 (one) towel for the face;
- Room cleaning service: 1 (one) once a week;
- Service change of linen: 1 (one) once a week;
- Men and women stay separately;
- The accommodation is situated close to the school (Watch the arrangement of the houses in the village).
- Students can ask the exchange of the accommodation given to them.
- Check-in is scheduled for the Sunday before the beginning of the course and check-out on Saturday. The arrival and departure must be arranged during the week-end. On the day of departure, the accommodation must be vacated by 10:00 in the morning.
- *Single rooms have an additional cost, as well as private apartments.
- Insurance
- Students are not insured, at school or in the accommodation in the case of illness, accident, theft or loss of personal values;
- It is recommended to take out insurance for illness, injury or accident during their stay in Italy;
- We also recommend that you take out insurance for trip cancellation, which covers the costs of the course and the accommodation in the event of a cancellation before departure, or in case of early completion of the course (due to illness, accident, death of a family member, etc).
- Citizens of the EU are exempt from medical expenses if they bring the E111 form to ask at your health authority prior to departure. Non-eu students must obtain information from the competent local authorities to know if they are insured during your stay abroad.
- Visa
- The Iscape is not responsible for the issue of an entry Visa or any delay in the process for obtaining a Visa for Italian and/or cancellation or delay to flights.
- Limitation of services
- Day Holidays: holidays, as is indicated in the calendar, there is no teaching activity and the school will be closed;
- Are excluded, in each case, the responsibility and refund to be part of the School for non-delivery or delayed delivery of the service as a consequence of circumstances outside of its control, or causes of force majeure, including, by way of example and not limited to, natural disasters, adverse weather conditions, epidemics, pandemics, acts of sabotage, fires, floods, earthquakes, strikes, the faulty operation resulting from the incorrect operation of the electronic devices of third-party utility, telephone lines, electric power transmission and world-wide networks and/or national, such as, but not limited to and is not limited to, failures, overloads, interruptions, or any other circumstances not attributable to the School and prevent the use of the service. Notwithstanding the foregoing, and except in case of wilful misconduct or gross negligence of the School, the parties acknowledge and agree that in each and in any case the responsibility of the School), will not exceed the amount paid by the student to the School for the provision of the service.
- Duration of the course
The school offers courses with a duration of 4 (four), and 2 (two) weeks, as indicated in the application form. - Attendance
The participation in the courses of Italian language and Italian culture courses are compulsory. If the student is unable to attend a lesson or cultural activity, the same shall notify the responsible person of the course. - Discipline
- The School reserves the right of admission of the students who want to enrol in the school. This right is exercised, even in the course of educational activities, in the event that a student proves to be disrespectful towards other students or staff of the school, with the exclusion and removal from the classroom and the other students. In such cases, the School has no obligation to ensure that no refund or cover the costs caused by these behaviors.
- Smoking and/or ingest alcohol is strictly prohibited inside the facilities of the school.
- The accommodations are offered to the student only to ensure the participation in the course.
- The accommodations can be used by the student only to ensure the participation to the activities to which it is writing.
- It is forbidden to sleep, even temporarily, persons who are not registered to the activities of the School.
- The staff of the School has the right to enter in the student housing prior to communication with appropriate notice. In addition, reserves the right to carry out audits incidental to ensure that students comply with the rules of the School and lead the accommodation in a proper way.
- It is prohibited to use inappropiato, the takeaway and the alienzazione of any equipment, furniture and furnishings present in the housing in which the student is hosted in.
- Any damage or breakages provide for the reimbursement by the student for the restore.
- Students are responsible for the care of the order and the cleanliness of the rooms assigned to him.
- The student is required to maintain the accommodation entrusted without bringing any damage and must return it in the same condition in which it was at the time of his entrance, that is to say with all of any furniture present at the beginning of the course, and undamaged, with doors and windows intact, the walls are well decorated, etc., If the student fails to comply with this obligation, the School has the right to retain the deposit at the beginning of the course or totally or partially.
- Extension of stay
Participants who wish to extend their stay up to a maximum of two months following the conclusion of the course in which they participated, they are required to pay the costs of the stay, and to the payment of a security deposit and additional $ 100.
The deposit will be refunded at the end of the stay, subject to deductions for any damage or actual consumption.
The last day of the stay will be the last day of the month and end of the course that coincides with the extension of the stay. - Changes
The dates, times, course content can be modified if necessary. The official calendar will be delivered to the student at the beginning of the course. - Responsibility
The School is not responsible for any loss, theft, damage of property by the student inside and/or outside of the facilities of the school, as well as for injury or death. - Physical conditions and location of the school
The school is located in an ancient village, characterized with steep streets, stairways and paths that can be challenging.
We recommend that students be in good physical condition, because many daily activities may require a certain physical strength.
Those with mobility difficulties, or health conditions that limit the ability to walk, or to deal with paths on a slope should carefully consider these factors before signing up. In this sense, at the time of enrollment, the student must declare to be in good mental and physical health and to be able to carry out the activities of the programme of study / living room (classes, sharing accommodation with other students, tours, excursions, dinners, social, etc.). Must also declare you do not suffer from diseases that require forms of care or assistance special.
Are not available internal means of transport to the village for the daily commute, if not for the events organized by the school. - Privacy
The student authorizes the School to use the personal data to be able to proceed with the registration and use data, demographic and statistical data for promotional purposes. The student may, in accordance with the guide-lines of eu legislation (GDPR art. 13), at any time, request the cancellation of personal data.
The student authorizes the School to publish your photos and videos stay in school. If the participant does not agree with this, you can do this on the first day of the course. - Free transport
Students are entitled to free transport to all the cultural activities and excursions organized by the School and included in the program.
