With regard to the arrival, transport and accommodation

COURSE BOOKING

To book, you need to send the online registration form. Indicating who is your contact person (responsible)

In the letter of confirmation will specify the mode of payment of the registration.

The scholarship must be paid in full 30 days prior to arrival. However, to confirm the vacancy, upon receipt of the confirmation of the scholarship, you will have 7 days to make an initial deposit of at least 285€. This information is referred to in your letter.

Accommodation in a shared room – between 2/3 people – is included in the price of the course. In case, there is a bathroom for a maximum of 4 people.

You also have the option of staying at:

  • single room (with shared bathroom)
  • private apartment
ACCOMMODATION IN SINGLE ROOM

If you do not want to share your room at the time of completing the registration form you will have to choose a single room by paying an extra cost of € 220. You will be assigned a room in the house shared with other people – a maximum of 6 people, which share a bathroom if you are in 4, or, two bathrooms if you are 5 or 6 people. House information, photos, location, among other things, will be sent 15/10 days before arrival.

ACCOMMODATION IN PRIVATE APARTMENTS

The private apartments (independent) are clearly more comfortable in the apartments shared with other people and for this reason have an extra price.

These apartments are 1, 2, 3, or 4 people.

At the time of completing the registration form, you can choose the option single apartment, with a bedroom, paying an extra cost of € 570, minimum price for 1 or 2 people. You will be assigned an apartment according to the number of persons indicated, without the possibility to choose the apartment. For other options, with two bedroom, please send an email to info@pitagoramundus.org

Important: the private apartments need to be booked well in advance and the price can vary depending on the people that employ them.

DATE AND TIME OF YOUR ARRIVAL

We need to know at least 15 days in advance of the date and the exact time of your arrival. Send this information via e-mail: info@pitagoramundus.org

BED LINEN AND TOWELS

Bed linen and towels (1 large, 1 small) are provided by the school, with weekly change.

COMFORT AT HOME

Once you closed the space for your course, we can arrange the layout in case, if you share, such as the designation of a private apartment, if this was your choice. We will send the information over the house via e-mail.
Each house offers a minimum standard to make your experience welcoming.

The kitchen is fully equipped with utensils, pots and pans for cooking, electric kettle and moca, etc

Also other items such as hair dryer, washing machine, iron, ironing board, etc

BRING SUITCASES TO READ

It is difficult to travel to Italy with heavy luggage, often in the old town there are no elevators and change train with heavy luggage, it is very difficult!

COME PREPARARE LA VALIGLIA?<br />

It is necessary to bring at least a sports shoe for excursions and walks in the country. There are inclines and stairs, the ground can be slippery if wet.

A raincoat, a coat, and to wear comfortable clothing and fresh, especially in the summer months. An exchange of formal dress for a party or dinner which might apply.

Swimsuit and what you need to go to the beach. Some beaches have sand and the surface of small stones, can be annoying.

For those who are outside of the summer period, should also be taken into consideration warm clothing.

Remember that the apartments are equipped with washing machine! You should not make so many changes.

CLIMATE

Summer in Italy is quite hot, to the south the climate is more mild in the night, especially in cities such as Belvedere, which is on the coast.

The temperatures are pleasant in the spring and in the fall.

The temperature in summer ranges from 18°C to 30°C (64°F to 86°F). In the winter varies from 4°C to 16°C (39°F to 61°F).

CREDIT CARDS/TRAVELER'S CHECK

Credit cards are accepted in almost all shops, but especially in the city, you will need to pay in cash.

Traveller's checks are not accepted in the shops.

You can withdraw cash at atms (ATM) located and in the city (VISA, Mastercard, American Express, Cirrus, Maestro), if you have a card that offers the chance to do this abroad.

In the village there is an atm at the Italian post office.

Atms dispense only euro and not other types of currency.

Another important fact is that you will have a daily limit for cash withdrawals at atms Italian (normally 250€). We recommend that you change euro before starting (it is difficult and expensive to change dollars and other currencies in Italian banks). Read the Exchange of money.

ELECTRICITY

The voltage used in Italy is 220 Volts/AC.

The sockets of various electrical appliances and electronic devices may be different from those used in your Country, informed and bring with you an adapter according to european standard.

Alternatively, you can also buy an adapter for around 5 €.

CURRENCY EXCHANGE

You'll want to buy EURO in your own Country before leaving. Or to Rome, where there are many exchange offices close to Roma Termini.

It is not convenient to change at the airport.

In Belvedere, there are currency exchange offices.

To change money, you have to go to the offices of the Italian post office in Cetraro, or Cosenza. Also at the headquarters of the Western Union to Cosenza.

BANK ACCOUNT

If you need to open a bank account in Italy, it is possible if you have the Italian citizenship (or the community) and you usually have to go to the bank in person.

The banks charge a monthly fee, so it's more practical to do is to take a PostePay card (Poste Italiane). There are many options, depending on the services offered (costs vary), but there is also a free option that is digital.

INSURANCE

Our students are insured in the following cases:

  • during the lessons
  • during the time allocated to activities of the school

The participants are not insured during the time they spend outside of the School (in the rooms or in the free time, where they can move where they want to).

Also there is no cover in respect of illness, injury, theft or loss of personal belongings that they do not impair in any way the School or the home in which to house the students.

 For this reason we suggest that you take out travel insurance personal.

During your stay in Italy, you need to have an insurance against illness and injury.

The citizens of the member Countries of the European Union have the right to receive health care free of charge if you are in possession of the E111 form, which they can obtain from the health authorities of the Country of origin before departure for Italy.

Students who come from countries outside of the European Union, instead, they should ask the authorities of their country of origin if they have some type of insurance for trips abroad. If students do not have any type of insurance coverage, they will have to buy one that can ensure a peaceful stay in Italy. Also, it would be advisable to have travel insurance to cover the loss of objects or other things.

For this it is necessary to contact for more details of your travel agent, even with your bank/credit card that you may have promotions.

USE OF INTERNET/ PHONE

In the apartments Belvedere Marittimo is not present, the connection to the Internet.

In Belvedere, there is free WIFI in the Square Amellino (via Poste Italiane) or in the bar.

You can buy a SIM card from a Italian to have the telephone line and Wi-Fi. With this SIM you can connect to your computer.

*Verify before to get the list of extra services for the purchase of the SIM.

 If you need to buy the SIM in another city, such as Rome, we advise you to go at the offices of the official of the mobile phone companies.

We recommend that you contract with Vodafone, or I because they are ‘operators that work best in the city.

You can negotiate with us simcard I have! of 150gb per month. You pay 25€ for the first month, with the activation. The following months you will have to make a charge of€10.

INTERNATIONAL CALLS

International calls can be made from public phones by using an international calling card (sold in bars and tobacco shops).

The international access code for Italy is +39.

HEALTH, MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS AND PHARMACIES

In the marina Belvedere there are several doctors, dentists and pharmacies.

Remember, if you need to take regular medications, bring with you the required amount for your stay. In pharmacy you'll need the recipe of an Italian doctor.

If you are in need of a prescription medication, you will need to call your insurance company and ask the doctor to give you the recipe specifies.

During the stay in Italy you need to have an insurance against illness and accidents (Read: Insurance).

In these days there will be lectures and will not be recovered.

CASH - EXPENSES

Cooking at home is the most economical option. Shopping at the supermarket will cost about 30 to 50€ per week/person.

Eat in the pizzeria, have an average cost of 15 to 20€; Instead, the restaurant 30/50€-.

Clearly, these values can vary a lot depending on your habits and needs.

You can reach our School even through the Lamezia Terme International Airport (direct flights from Milan, Rome, London, and other low-cost flights). VISA

European Union citizens do not need a visa to enter Italy, and can use the id-card (ID) or passport.

Citizens from other countries should check with the Italian embassy or consulate nearest local to their area.

If you need a visa to stay in Italy for more than 90 days, you must fill out a form D-TYPE (students) to obtain such a visa.

OTHER INFO

If you need to apply for an Italian passport in Italy if you already have the citizenship.

It is possible, but this does not mean that it will be quick.

First of all, you need to obtain an identity card (IC).

To do this, you must first obtain the certificate of residence in AIRE.

You will then need to contact the Municipality where you registered your citizenship and see if you can come without an appointment.

Will depend on this office to be able to complete the procedure, because the required period of residence in Italy, for which it is necessary to delete the residence in the AIRE.
